Vietnam: The Dai Nam Racecourse opened in late 2016 approximately 40km outside of Ho Chi Minh City. Systems integrator Ba Sao Investment was appointed to deliver a sound reinforcement solution for the large, open venue. The systems integrator also serves as the Vietnamese distributor for Harman and turned to JBL, Crown, Soundcraft and BSS for this installation.
The 42,753 sq-m venue is designed to stage horse and dog races, as well as motorboat racing, go-kart racing and fly-board performances. In addition to being tasked with providing sound reinforcement across the site, Ba Sao Investments was also given a tight deadline in which to complete the work.
A total of 52 JBL AWC82 all-weather compact speakers were installed as the main PA throughout the stadium, while a pair of PRX710 speakers handle monitoring in the control room. Ba Sao Investment also deployed four AWC129 all-weather units to cover the racecourse entrance and parking facilities. Power for the system is via 15 Crown CTs2000 amplifiers and a single CTs3000, while mixing is courtesy of a Soundcraft Si Expression 1 console.
Assisting the systems integrator in completing the project quickly and to deadline was the BSS Blu Link, which enables simple connectivity between the various Harman branded products. A combination of five Blu-50s, one Blu-100, a Blu-102 and six units of Blu-Dan integrates all DSP into a single audio system.
Meanwhile, speech reinforcement is captured via an AKG WMS470 Vocal Set D5 wireless microphone setup including an HT470 handheld transmitter. This is complemented by a pair of AKG CGN521 STS tabletop microphones used for commentary.
‘I am extremely satisfied with Harman’s products and Ba Sao Investments’ services the timely completion of the project,’ said Vo Kim Thanh, vice president at Dai Nam Race Course. ‘Not only I am very happy with the quality of Harman’s products but the local television stations have also praised the products during their visit.’
