Messe Frankfurt Exhibition has taken on Wolfgang Weyand to head up the business relations and entertainment department of its Musikmesse and Pro Light + Sound team. Mr Weyand will oversee the entire complementary programme of events at the Frankfurt-based trade shows, including special information, networking and professional development events as part of the entertainment programme.

Mr Weyand has been working in the events and entertainment industry for more than 25 years, at one time serving as CEO of Sound of Frankfurt Veranstaltungs. More recently, he was the director of the cultural programme at the German pavilion at this year’s Expo event in Kazakhstan. He also possesses recent experience of working with Messe Frankfurt. As CEO of Weyand Entertainment Consulting, he organized the Musikmesse Festival in 2016 and 2017 on behalf of Messe Frankfurt, with a wide variety of concerts. He has also previously organised the Musikbiz Lounge and Congress as a Musikmesse partner.

‘We are delighted that Wolfgang Weyand is placing his many years of experience in the cultural and creative sector at the disposal of Messe Frankfurt,’ stated Michael Biwer, group show director of the entertainment media and creative industries business unit.

‘I am looking forward to becoming part of this community and working together with exhibitors, trade associations and partners of both fairs’, said Mr Weyand.
