Eve Audio talks acoustics at Tokyo’s Onkio Haus

Continuing on its annual tour of Asia following a stop in Beijing, Eve Audio recently travelled to the Shibuya district in Tokyo to visit Ishibashi Music, the first shop in the country to stock the manufacturer’s monitors, as well as holding a pair of seminars with distributor Media Integration at the Onkio Haus Studio in Ginza.

Following a recent renovation, Onkio Haus was outfitted with Eve Audio SC408 and SC207 models as part of its 7.1 Channel surround system (see Pro Audio Asia July-August 2016). ‘Eve is not unknown in Japan anymore. But we still see chances to grow and this seminar is a very nice opportunity to present the people behind the brand name to our customers,’ said Eve Audio brand manager, Satoshi Yamaguchi. ‘We combined the Eve seminar with a workshop by Jeff Miyahara who highlighted the importance of subwoofers. His workshop was a great accompaniment to the acoustic seminar by Eve CEO Roland Stenz.’

Mr Yamaguchi’s own studio is outfitted with Eve’s TS108 subwoofer. ‘The TS108 changed my view of mixing,’ he explained. ‘It widens the frequency range, allowing me to align lots of musical elements such as bass, drums, synthesizers and vocals. This is not just adding sub-low sound to your system. It provides users with a much more powerful and wider mixing space by seamlessly combining with any type of satellite monitors. I appreciate sharing the knowledge and experience I have with more people in our country to enable them to make better music. It’s also a pleasure to meet with Roland Stenz. He knows a great deal about about acoustics and it was a pleasure to listen to him talk.’

‘Thanks to Media Integration’s constant hard work we have experienced steady growth in Japan,’ added Eve Audio sales and marketing director, Kerstin Mischke. ‘It was a very nice opportunity to meet our Japanese customers. We hope our visit and seminar can help to raise awareness further.’
