Plans for InfoComm SEA revealed

Thailand:

With Southeast Asia projected to move up the ranks as the fourth-largest economy in the world by 2050, resulting in a surge of demand for AV applications, the organisers of the first InfoComm Southeast Asia in Bangkok are expecting 120 exhibitors to attend the 15-17 May event.

Pro AV and integrated solutions will feature from the likes of Aoto Electronics, DigiBird, Epson, Intel, Kramer Electronics, Panasonic Systems Solutions, Philips Professional Display, Shure Asia and Tricolor. Focusing on ‘deeper learning’, the debut show will also host a series of free-to-attend seminars where experts can share their experiences. This year’s stand-out technology seminars include how AV professionals can design for user experience (UX), how to maximise sound quality in spaces based on an understanding of the way in which ambient environments affects the quality and propagation of sound, and essential maths for AV projects which includes elements on visual and projection, Ohm’s law, audio, scales and conversions.

Visitors will also be able to sign up for AV Tech Tours to visit recently installed sites in Bangkok to study how AV solutions are effectively deployed in real-life settings. Sites on the list include the Prince Mahidol Hall of the Mahidol University in Bangkok, a university equipped with advanced AV technology, a cinema which was one of the first to use a LED screen and a theme park.

Research from AVIXA shows that the size of the AV market in Southeast Asia is estimated to grow by 33% in the next five years – from $6.035 billion (US) in 2018 to $8.033 billion in 2023. ‘Southeast Asia is a unified economic entity which is growing by leaps and bounds and should no longer be ignored,’ said Richard Tan, executive director of InfoComm Asia. 'InfoComm Southeast Asia is the region’s dedicated pro AV and integrated experience solutions platform, and what it gives to visitors is not just the opportunity to update their knowledge on the latest products and technologies, but also the chance to renew and reinforce relationships and enable their businesses to soar into the future.'
