Brio proves popular in Japanese broadcast market
Calrec has reported sales of 40 Brio audio consoles within the Japanese broadcast sector during 2018. This includes purchases by existing Calrec customers and new, with all installations carried out by the British manufacturer’s local distributor, Hibino Intersound.
‘Because the Brio is a compact and less expensive console than others in its class, we’ve been able to penetrate the broadcast market here in Japan on a pretty impressive level,’ said Hibino Intersound’s broadcast market manager, Takashi Kozuma. ‘Our customers highlight that the Brio is easy to learn and use, and they are also particularly impressed with Calrec’s highly flexible Hydra2 networking capabilities.’
The team at Hibino Intersound also noted that the Brio mixers are being used by the list of broadcasters in a variety of ways, including as sub-mixing desks and as back-up consoles.
