Rugby School calls on Mahajak

Rugby School Thailand is a British international school in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung District and sister school to a facility of the same name in the UK. The private school was established in 2017 and, after its first year, school management turned to Mahajak Development to install a new audio, visual and stage lighting system in its theatre.

‘The customer required clear sound for speech and music to cover the entire space,’ explained Mahajak’s project sales engineer. ‘The theatre is used for a variety of events, such as conferences, lectures and stage performances.’

To meet the audio requirements, Mahajak deployed two JBL EON610 self-powered speakers with pairs of SRX818S subwoofers and SRX815 bass-reflex cabinets powered by two Crown XTi 6002 amplifiers. Processing is handled by a BSS BLU-100 networked audio system and a Soundcraft Signature 22 manages the mix.

On the visual side, the Mahajak team set up a Grandview Skyshow 250-inch motorised screen with a Panasonic PT-RW930BA Solid Shine laser projector. Mahajak also added control elements to the theatre’s lighting rig with a Martin Professional M-Touch surface and a DMX 5.3 Splitter, which maintains data over long DMX signal runs, boosting the weak DMX signals to their original output level before they become too low to be read.

‘Our main challenge was to install the equipment on time because it was an urgent project,’ added the Mahajak engineer. ‘However, the work was completed on time because of our team’s dedication and commitment.’
