sE Electronics’ V Series of dynamic vocal microphones has new members

V Kick, V Beat and V Clamp are aimed at the live sound and studio drum markets and have been added to sE Electronics’ V Series of dynamic vocal microphones. V Kick is intended for use with kick (bass) drums or other large drums where low-frequency energy is important. Its integrated swivel joint reportedly allows for any required mic placement, and its supercardioid capsule provides a sound character tailored specifically for kick drums, which can be further shaped with the use of two voicing and high-frequency character switches on the rear side of the microphone.

V Beat is an ultra-compact dynamic microphone intended for use with snare or tom drums. The capsule provides a natural sound character with off-axis rejection to minimise bleed from nearby drums and cymbals. The parallel XLR connector and stand mount are said to give it the smallest footprint in its class, while its swivel mount allows its angle to be adjusted so it can be aimed at almost any part of the drum head to achieve whatever sound character is required.

V Clamp is compatible with any snare or tom drum and was designed as a companion to V Beat for snare or tom miking. The elastic clamp reportedly allows set up and tear down within seconds, while the height and rotation of the connected microphone can be easily changed by loosening the V Clamp’s knob and adjusting the position of the rod, allowing positioning for any desired drum tone or to minimise spill from nearby drums.
