SDVoE Alliance gains new members

D-Link, Siemon and Theatrixx have all joined the SDVoE Alliance as adopting members.

‘Over the past decade, we’ve seen balanced twisted-pair copper cabling become a clear choice for connecting AV equipment and end devices, but many of these systems have not been true IP-based or operating at data rates that stress the cabling infrastructure,’ commented Carl Siemon, president and CEO of Siemon. ‘As a global manufacturer of low-voltage copper and fibre cabling solutions, we understand that high performance cables and connectors will play an important role in ensuring headache-free SDVoE operation.’

Gabriel Duschinsky, CTO at Theatrixx, noted that the pro video environment can be a confusing one given the wide array of video formats, resolutions, codecs, connection interfaces and transport methods. ‘That reduces equipment compatibility and increases system complexity and the risk of errors,’ he said. ‘We’re strong advocates of standardisation and making things simpler for the user, so since we first heard about SDVoE technology more than 4 years ago, we knew it would be a perfect match for our vision. We firmly believe SDVoE technology is the only true common denominator to bridge all these standards using a uniform approach, with full 4K60 support and the lowest latency possible.’

D-Link supplies network solutions for home and business. ‘We’re very excited about our new partnership with the SDVoE Alliance,’ said Matthew Vaillancourt, senior director of business sales. ‘For us, it’s not about leading in market share as it is about leading together in innovation.’

‘The mission of the SDVoE Alliance is to provide the solid, stable, reliable and cost-effective platform that can truly transform the matrix, and high performance, standardized Ethernet infrastructure is a vital part of that,’ said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. ‘We are delighted to welcome Theatrixx to the SDVoE ecosystem, which will certainly benefit from their ability to create innovative devices and systems that meet the demanding requirements of rental and staging, and are built to withstand the daily hazards of life on the road. We welcome D-Link and look forward to tapping into their networking and switching expertise to provide solutions AV professionals can depend on as we transform the matrix. And we welcome [Siemon’s] participation in our education initiatives.’
