Microflex gets smarter at InfoComm 2019

As InfoComm 2019 opens its doors, Shure has unveiled a new version of its Microflex Advance Ceiling Array Microphone that builds in IntelliMix DSP. Intellimix DSP in the MXA910 comprises acoustics echo cancellation, noise reduction and automatic mixing, while Autofocus Technology continually fine-tunes the position of each lobe in real-time for consistent sound pickup.

‘Over the past few years, the adoption and adaptability of the MXA910 has delivered premium audio for video conferences, meetings and lectures all over the globe,’ said Chris Merrick, director of global systems marketing at Shure. ‘Now, with the support of Shure IntelliMix DSP, the new MXA910 addresses the ever-evolving needs of today’s most critical meetings and conferences to deliver highly intelligible audio quality that fosters natural dialogue and enhanced collaboration.’

The array is said to ease deployment and out-of-the box setup by including simplified templates and the Autofocus Technology. It can also directly connect to a hardware or software codec using the DSP embedded in the ceiling microphone. When used with a Shure audio network interface (ANI), it provides users with a simplified room solution that provides a microphone and DSP in a single package. Integrators can also incorporate multiple MXA910 microphones and the Shure IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor for simplified room expansion and scalability.

Shure has also introduced version 3.1 of its SystemOn audio asset management software to provide users with a 360° view of inventory. The software monitors device health and history to help events run smoothly, including tracking network connectivity, low battery status, RF performance and audio levels. SystemOn 3.1 now supports Shure’s ULX-D digital wireless system, Microflex Advance MXA910 ceiling array and MXA310 table array microphones, P300 IntelliMix audio conferencing processor, ANIUSB-MATRIX USB audio network interface and SCM820 automatic mixer.

In addition to the new array model. Shure has become Zoom Rooms Certified for several audio conferencing solutions, the Microflex Advance Ceiling Array, Table Top Microphone, IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor and Microflex Wireless microphone products.

As part of Shure’s certification efforts, Shure worked with Zoom to confirm that Shure’s Mute Sync feature on the IntelliMix P300 product worked seamlessly with Zoom Rooms. This feature provides simple synchronisation of mute control and LED notification without an external control system.

Lastly, white colour variants have been introduced for Microflex Wireless  (MXW) and ULX-D Digital Wireless boundary and gooseneck transmitters together with the corresponding MX405/410/415 goosenecks.

The ‘bright white edition’ is designed as a solution for today’s evolving AV conferencing environments, where white microphones are an increasingly popular choice to complement modern room designs. Additionally, the manufacturer will also introduce bright white versions of the MX202 overhead/choir microphone and the R183/184/185/189 replacing the previous ‘off-white’ legacy model versions.
