The inaugural Rise Awards, created to recognise women in the broadcast and media industry, are open to entries. In association with Avid, the Rise Awards are sponsored by Adobe, Avid Customer Association, Clear-Com, Grass Valley and Ross Video.

Submissions and nominations are welcomed from across the globe. The awards are free to enter and the deadline for nominations is Monday 15 July. The winners will be announced at IBC 2019 on Saturday 14 September during a ceremony held in the RAI with a drinks reception sponsored by Ross Video.

The awards categories are as follows:

  • Engineer – Sponsored by Clear-Com, this award recognises the very best of the broadcasting profession.
  • Marketer/PR – Open to any woman working in a marketing or PR role in the industry, either in-house, freelance or for an agency.
  • Technical Operations – For a technical operations team member who has gone above and beyond the requirements of their day-to-day role.
  • Saleswoman – Open to any woman in a sales role within the broadcast industry. They can be working for a manufacturer, service provider, broadcaster, media publisher or tradeshow.
  • Business – Open to anyone running a business in the broadcast industry, including CEOs, managing directors, COOs and company owners, be they manufacturers, broadcasters or service providers. This award is sponsored by Adobe.
  • Rising Star – The Avid Customer Association sponsors this award to recognise those that have worked in the industry for less than four years and have made a significant contribution to their business.
  • Woman of the Year – This award, sponsored by Grass Valley, is open to any woman across the sector, at any level, and will be presented to somebody who has made a significant difference in her field or to the industry.
