Raycom to bolster Wisycom in Australia

Raycom has been appointed the exclusive distributor for Wisycom in Australia. The Italian manufacturer has worked with the UK-based distributor for over a decade to broaden and strengthen its UK market and will now take its RF products to Australia.

Wisycom recently launched the MCR42S (S3 version) wireless camera receiver and MTP40S/MTP41S bodypack transmitter but has long been established among the broadcasting fraternity in Europe with a wide range of wireless microphones, IEMs, RF over fibre systems, wireless intercoms and accessories.

Wisycom is a relatively late entrant to the APAC sector but has created some notable inroads in recent years, including an extensive wireless system in the world’s largest indoor area. Located north of Manila, a 55,000-capacity, multipurpose indoor arena at Ciudad de Victoria currently benefits from a Wisycom companding wireless microphone system for which 18 channels are equipped with both Wisycom and DPA wireless heads and DPA lapel clip-ons. The entire venue can be scanned for wireless frequencies determining which are available for use. As such, the arena management demanded an extensive antenna system on account of the immense scale.

Commenting on the appointment, commercial director, Andy Clements, said: ‘We pledge to give a pro-active offering and supply of Wisycom products in Australia with the same kind of passion that we do in the UK.’

The Raycom and Wisycom brand will be officially launched by the managing director, Pyers Easton, and Clements at The Media + Entertainment Tech Expo (SMPTE) in Sydney on 17 July 2019.
