Audio-Technica opens flagship store in Southeast Asia
Established in 1962, Audio-Technica has continued to adopt its original core belief: ‘Quality Audio for Everyone’. Following that principal, the Southeast Asia office has opened a flagship store in Singapore’s newly refurbished Funan shopping mall.
‘We’d been toying with the idea of opening a flagship store for the past two years. Audio-Technica Southeast Asia has been in Singapore for about 23 years and we really felt we wanted to do something different to engage more of our customers,’ explains Audio-Technica’s sales and marketing manager, SK Teng.
The retail presence offers both audio professionals and enthusiastic passers-by alike a further glimpse into the world of Audio-Technica. Christened ‘Listening Tree-House’, the store is located in the centre of Funan’s ‘Tree of Life’, for which a 3D rendered tree bark serves as the centerpiece of the store.
‘We encompass such a wide customer group, from professional to consumer and prosumers. We’re a rock & roll music company, so we have to stay in touch with our customers and listen to them and let them know who we really are and our heritage. With this flagship store they get to have the full experience of our turntables to our phono cartridges and headphones – so they can see how we grew with them, from vinyl and cassettes to Tidal and Spotify,’ adds Teng.
When entering the boutique, visitors are greeted by an impressive analogue set up of turntables and cartridges, for which the Japanese manufacturer is showcasing a number of new models. Further to the left is an eye-catching display of high-fidelity headphones, handpicked by the audio aficionados. To complete the experience, visitors are invited to take a wireless journey into the comfort of cord-free music.
‘We have a wide range of products here from the high-end headphones to our Bluetooth range of products and business mics. Ultimately, we wanted somewhere to present our philosophy – our DNA, in a different manner and let people truly experience our products.’
