China:

Prolight + Sound Shanghai (PLSS) is just a month away, taking place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 10–13 October. The show organiser, Messe Frankfurt (HK), has announced that an enhanced fringe programme will be offered to bring visitors up to speed on current trends and topics, with a variety of sessions divided between three categories: Forums and Events, PLSS Academy and Interactive Events.

‘Lighting and AV are booming and this evolution is being backed by the Chinese government, who is supporting cultural and tourism-related developments and raising awareness on education and training in stage performance,’ said Judy Cheung, deputy general manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK). ‘This year’s fringe programme will respond to this trend with more content and a diverse range of carefully selected subjects, which will leave participants with a clear and updated vision on the latest industry trends and topics.’

Forum and Events sessions include the new A3E Summit @ Prolight + Sound Shanghai, and a seminar on the presence of audio, stage art, and creative design in culture and tourism.

The PLSS Academy will tackle topics such as Event Safety Training and Acoustics Technology, while also providing Dante Certification training and the VPLT International Audio Training Course.

Interactive Events will include the return of the Concert Sound Arena in the fairground, which will feature an array of demonstrations with 17 audio systems. Brands on show will include Funktion-One, KV2 Audio, Triple Onda, Turbosound, TW Audio, Verity and Voice Acoustic, as well as local brands Admark, CPL, DMX, HZ, Magnetic, Morin, TK Sound, YME, ZMSAudio and Zsound.
