Australia:

Seizing an opportunity to welcome friends, customers and colleagues during the recent Integrate 2019 exhibition in Melbourne, Technical Audio Group (TAG) officially opened its new Victoria state office.

‘With so many members of the audiovisual industry already in town, it was perfect timing,’ commented TAG’s national sales manager and leader, Giles Brading. ‘Once we set the date, there was some furious renovation needed to get the training facility ready for the occasion, but I’m delighted to say that after some round-the-clock project management from TAG’s technical director, Anthony Russo, we’ve got something a bit special here.’

Having relocated from a former chocolate factory, the new TAGV offices serve as a base for TAG's Victorian team, while replicating and extending the training, demonstration and meeting facilities of the TAG HQ in Sydney. In addition to the state-of-the-art training facility, the four-level building in the inner-city, hipster suburb of Collingwood, TAGV includes office and administration levels together with a rooftop meeting and demonstration area. Having professionally catered for the entertainment industry over three decades, TAG has learnt a thing or two from its extensive client list to make 46 Easey Street the perfect rendezvous for paella, coffees and beers.

‘The technical nature of our products, particularly QSC Q-Sys, necessitates plenty of training and we have been offering sessions on a frequent and regular basis in Sydney,’ explained Russo. ‘Having a home for training in Melbourne is a really important step for us. It’s a promise we made to ourselves a while back and it’s something we’ve been very keen to deliver.’

Combining the grand opening with Integrate meant representatives from TAG suppliers Allen & Heath, Audio-Technica, Martin Audio and QSC were all in town – including QSC’s CEO and AVIXA chairman, Joe Pham. Pham joined TAG directors Maxwell Twartz and Anthony Russo to cut the virtual ribbon onstage before making a brief address on the importance of relationships, in light of QSC/TAG’s successful 25-year history together.

Following the formalities, QSC’s dynamic training duo Patrick Heyn and Nathan Makaryk took to the stage with an improvised comedy set and were very warmly received by the 180 guests. ‘It’s a privilege for us to welcome so many friends here tonight,’ Brading commented on behalf of the whole TAG team. ‘We’re looking forward to this place being our home in Melbourne, but we also want our customers to feel at home so please make it as much about you, as it is about us.’
