Loud and Direct in Singapore

Singaporean distributors Loud Technologies Asia (LTA) and AVL Direct teamed up for a demo day at The Star Performing Arts Centre, which drew well over 80 sound and lighting professionals, including visitors from Thailand and the Philippines, to experience a number of the latest and greatest products from the portfolios of dBTechnologies and DTS Lighting. Spread across three venues at The Star, all presentations were delivered by personnel from both Italian manufacturers.

Referring to real-world user cases, DTS Lighting’s technical sales engineer, Giorgio Cassara, demonstrated the Alchemy 5 and Euphony 3 moving head beam wash light, the Synergy 5 Profile moving head and the IP65-rated X Brick wash projector. ‘We had appointed AVL Direct as our distributor for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia earlier in 2019,’ said Carmen Savarese, international sales manager at DTS. ‘We are very happy with their commitment, so we came over to support them in increasing the visibility of our brand and showing these products, most of which are here on display for the first time in this part of the world.’

Several dBTechnologies loudspeakers, including members of the ES and DVA series, VIO X and the VIO W floor monitor, were demoed in a separate room. The VIO X205 in particular left attendees impressed, as Attaphon Aphaithong, chief marketing officer of AT Prosound in Thailand, confirmed: ‘At its size, it is surprisingly powerful; as if it’s always right in front of you, while sounding very good.’

On The Star’s Terrace outdoor theatre stage, Manuele Poli, dBTechnologies’ APAC sales manager, gave a brand presentation, followed by application engineer Riccardo Vanin elaborating on Ingenia and VIO series loudspeakers with the help of demo tracks played through IG4T and VIO L208 arrays with S118 subs surrounding the stage.

Poli also lauded the organisers for their efforts: ‘With LTA and AVL Direct we have strong partners combining skills and knowledge in both the touring and installation market segments, bringing our brand to another level in Singapore, an important hub in the region.’

‘We are very pleased with the attendance at this event and the feedback we got,’ stated Colin Quek, LTA’s managing director.

AVL Direct’s owner, Colin Oliveiro, added: ‘When planning this, we had mainly the touring sector in mind, so it’s great to see that several installers were present as well.’

The event came to a close with the ultimate demo – a live performance of local rock band Jack & Rai through the VIO L208/S118 system.
