Tohdai says HELO

Japan:

Tohdai is an educational resource for Japanese medical students looking to pass their entry exams. The resource is filled with the company’s Hayabusa college preparatory programme, which are taught through web-based courses. The company bought a HELO recording, streaming and delivery device by AJA due to its ability to save recordings onto both SD cards and USB storage drives.

The classes are recorded with two Sony PXW-X160 cameras along with a Tascam DR-10L recorder for audio capture. The camera and audio sources feed into a Roland video switcher, which is routed to the HELO for overall recording and allows the team to switch between the two camera signals.

‘Our team is new to working with pro AV equipment and figuring out a streamlined approach for recording our classes was a challenging hurdle for us,’ said Tohdai’s Kazuki Aizawa. ‘HELO’s simple operation and easy to use recording features enable us to capture footage from multiple cameras and switch back and forth between sources, which saves us valuable time and steps throughout production.’
