Ross Video wins at TV Technology Innovation Awards

World:

Ross Video has enjoyed a pair of wins at the 2019 TV Technology Product Innovation Awards, which celebrate ‘excellence in manufacturing of products to serve the TV/pro video and radio/online audio industries’. The manufacturer’s Ultrix IP platform won the Product Innovation Award, while VP of connectivity, Mark Sizemore, was named the Innovator of the Year.

The Product Innovation Award marks the ninth major honour presented to the Ultrix routing and processing platform since its 2015 launch. Ultrix IP is the latest development in the series, allowing users to route and process signals via agnostic IP or SDI transport streams using an integrated software-defined hardware platform to industry standards.

Meanwhile, Sizemore has been leading the team at Ross which develops platforms such as Ultrix. He started his career at Leitch Incorporated during the early days of the transition from analogue to digital. He rose through the ranks there to become lead digital engineer, focusing on hardware, FPGA and low-level software designs. Sizemore went on to become a product manager for the company’s large routing, MultiViewer and control system product lines before joining Ross Video.

‘When we set out to build the Ultrix platform, we wanted to create a high-spec solution that would disrupt the market, be innovative and change the perception of what a routing platform can provide,’ said Sizemore. ‘I’m immensely proud to have been awarded the Innovator of the Year accolade and to have the latest generation Ultrix IP recognised with a Product Innovation Award. Its success is testament to the hard work of a smart and highly dedicated group of people who have completely redefined this product category. 2019 was an amazing year for our team and I can confidently promise that 2020 is going to be even more exciting.’
