The Rosewood Bangkok Hotel is a 30-storey building that consists of 158 guest rooms, 23 unique suites houses with private pools, terraces and a 320m2 ballroom called the Pavilion. The entire hotel has been equipped with audio, visual and lighting systems by Mahajak. Ketakan Consulting (CCW Associates Thailand) was the systems integrator and consultant for this project.

An audio system was provided on several of the hotel’s floors including its lobby, ballroom, living room and reception which are connected to a BLU link network with a BSS BLU-100 processor. BSS HiQnet London Architect software was installed to configure, control and monitor the setup. The loudspeakers consist of JBL Control 88M landscape speakers for outdoors and the garden area, while Control 227CTs and Control 45C/Ts were set up on the high ceiling areas. Control 14C/Ts were equipped in the restrooms, while Control 40CS/Ts and Control 42Cs were provided for the spa room. For the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, Nan Bei, Mahajak deployed CBT 100LA-1 column speakers as well as AC195 loudspeakers for the Sound Bar. These are all driven by Crown DCi 8|300 amplifiers.

The Pavilion room is used for seminars and events and is equipped with JBL Control 321C ceiling speakers, CBT 200LA-1 line arrays and ASB6115 subwoofers. A BSS BLU-100 is used for sound processing and configuration, while Shure SLX wireless microphones and antenna distribution are used.

For the control system, an AMX NX-3200 controller was selected alongside an iPad Mini 4 with a wall-mount and charger.

The main feature of the visual setup is a wall-mounted AMX DGX800-ENC AV digital media switcher, along with a Panasonic PT-RZ970 laser projector, a Tensioned Large Advantage Deluxe Electrol motorised screen from Da-Lite and a Datavideo PTC-150TW camera with an RMC-180 camera control unit. An AMX DX-TX-WP multiformat wall-plate transmitter is used for receiving the video signal from both digital (HDMI) and analogue (VGA) sources.

The stage lighting system was designed for a variety of functions. Stage Maker SR5 and SR1 rigging hoists were installed above the ceiling to support functions such as signs or lamp hanging. Rental equipment was also supplied, including a Martin M-DMX interface and DMX 5.3 splitter, which are controlled from a Lenovo computer or Martin M2PC control surface.

Each guest room is fitted with JBL Control 16C/T ceiling speakers and Kramer VA-1USB-T and VA-1USB-R twisted pair transmitters. LED TVs are also equipped with KanexPro EXT-HDBASE70E 4K/30 HDMI extender-over-HDBaseT devices.
