Prolyte Asia Pacific restructures, becoming Sixty82 Doughty Asia

Following recent financial issues that plagued Prolyte Group and its subsequent acquisition by Area Four Industries, the independently operated Prolyte Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd (PAP) has severed ties with its namesake and, in the process, has rebranded as Sixty82 Doughty Asia (SDA).

As with Prolyte before, SDA will serve as an extension of both Sixty82 and Doughty in Asia.

‘For the past 15 years, we have operated under the name PAP; however, due to recent events, PAP has decided to take a logical step forward and start a new chapter with new partners,’ explained managing director, Menze van der Sluis. In order to continue providing the service it has become widely known for in Asia, PAP and Doughty became SDA after choosing to work with Sixty82.

Sixty82, much like Prolyte, designs and manufactures trussing and staging systems and is led by Prolyte’s original founders Fokko Smeding (CEO) and Marc Hendriks (CTO).

‘Sixty82 was the best and only choice for catering to the high standards of the extensive PAP customer base,’ reasoned van der Sluis, who also happens to be one of the first people employed by Prolyte in its early days and therefore has an established relationship with Smeding and Hendriks, having played a significant role in the development of the company. ‘To continue to support our customers in the way that we have been doing for so many years now, this was the only possible way forward.’

Another reason the former PAP decided to align with SDA was reportedly due to its focus on the specific needs of the Asian market and its approach to product development.

SDA notes that customers will still interact with the same team as before. What has changed is the company name and the brand of trussing solutions it provides. It is also noted that Sixty82 trusses are compatible with the Prolyte products previously supplied by PAP and that SDA guarantees distribution across all APAC countries.

‘Our goal is to continuously improve every aspect of our customers’ experience,’ said Sixty82 CEO Smeding. ‘Expanding our sales network, supporting personnel and being in close proximity to our customers are key initiatives towards achieving that. Having the SDA team support us is incredible and ensures that our customers in the APAC region will get the best treatment possible.’
