Korea:

Gyeongnam Masan Robot Land is reportedly the first theme park committed to robotics and includes convention, research and development centres. It has had several Christie products installed by the manufacturer’s Korean partners, Star Networks and Digital Line Technology Group (DLT Group).

‘As the first robot-themed attraction in the world, no effort was spared to deliver the best visual and audio experience to local and international visitors,’ said Seung Won Ham, head manager at Star Networks. ‘Christie’s laser projectors and image processing solutions have been the clear choice from the onset. Besides using high-performance projectors and media servers, we wanted to accomplish a fully integrated technology solution that the end user can confidently rely on. This decision resulted in the best outcome in terms of usability, performance, reliability and ease of maintenance.’

A total of 48 DWU850-GS and eight D13WU-HS laser projectors were set up throughout all of the themed areas. The DWU850-GSs are used for projection mapping and immersive displays while the D13WU-HS projectors are used for the full dome flying theatre. These are powered by Christie’s Pandoras Box single and quad players, dual and quad OCTO servers, manager and widget designer.

Ham added: ‘The Christie projectors and Pandoras Box enabled accurate synchronisation between the robots and contents to deliver a highly entertaining and engaging show experience that has been widely praised by visitors since the venue’s official opening. We are very satisfied with the end results and are proud to have strengthened our partnership with Christie through participation in this major project.’
