Bose goes to Work
Collaboration Solutions bring ease of use and Bose audio quality to conferencing and huddle Spaces
Encompassing a range of products and solutions specifically designed to provide simplicity and sound clarity in productive workday environments, Bose Professional has introduced Bose Work. On the eve of ISE 2020, the new portfolio launched specifically for today’s evolving workplace at the company’s Dutch HQ in Purmerend has been created to elevate the customer experience across all work communications.
‘Bose is entering into this market at exactly the right time,’ commented Bose Professional global lead Martin Bodley. ‘There has been a steep uptake in the adoption of Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts and Zoom that cannot be ignored. While Bose is not competing with these platforms, our technologies add value to the end user experience. Participants of meetings have long been treated as second-class citizens, but as we enter these workplaces Bose completes its cycle of solutions and in doing so provides premium solutions to enhance people’s lives.’
The new portfolio includes the Bose Videobar VB1 all-in-one USB conference device, the 700 UC noise cancelling headphones and a selection of ControlSpace EX components. From desktop and mobile conferencing products to all-in-one huddle space devices and fully integrated meeting rooms systems, the underlying ethos of Bose Work is to deliver consistent, premium performances making interactions more natural and productive whilst helping people to feel more connected and engaged.
Bose Work conferencing products integrate with existing platforms, enhancing third-party cloud services including Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts Meet, Zoom and others. The Bose Videobar VB1 simplifies huddle spaces making it easier for teams to work together with the effect that they are working in the same room. The Videobar VB1’s automatic beam-steering microphones are said to actively focus on voices in the space and reject noise, while the Bose-proprietary transducers produce full-range audio. A 4K ultra-HD camera is integrated into the chassis to transmit clear video transmission.
Given the nature of today’s mobile workplace – in the office, home, car and coffee shop —the Bose 700 UC headphones are being targeted to enhance enhancement and collaboration amongst remote workers. With the ability to toggle between conversation, voice/video calls and music, the headphones incorporate an adaptive eight-microphone system to transform any space into a meeting place. Using four of the microphones that actively identify and reject noise, important details can be understood as the user’s voice has been isolated.
For meeting rooms and conferencing applications, Bose is promoting the expandable ControlSpace EX conferencing processors and endpoints, together with PowerSpace amplifiers and directional EdgeMax in-ceiling loudspeakers. EX processors and endpoints can be configured to pair with standard analogue or Dante microphones, including the Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC2) ceiling array microphone, in various meeting rooms. The ES1 ceiling audio solution has been optimised for unified communication platforms in conferencing applications, whilst FreeSpace FS series loudspeakers have been described as a natural evolution with the series.
