GatesAir hires SEA regional sales manager

Southeast Asia:

Oscar Hu has joined GatesAir’s APAC team as the regional sales manager for Southeast Asia. Hu will report to the company’s head of sales for APAC, Jacky Yee, and his primary focus will be to raise GatesAir’s visibility and market share across the Southeast Asia region, as well as parts of East Asia and Micronesia.

With almost 15 years of experience within the broadcast industry, Hu’s most recent role was as sales manager for Digital Broadcast Asia Pacific. Much of his background is in over-the-air broadcast and he has been active in DVB-T2 and DVB-S product and standards development.

Upon joining GatesAir, Hu looks forward to working with regional customers and partners, while putting his experience in sales, TV and FM radio transmission systems integration to good use. He noted that many countries in his territory continue to operate analogue broadcast systems and that he sees an opportunity to prepare customers for digital transitions through training and educational initiatives, as well as familiarising broadcasters with GatesAir’s range of digital transmission solutions.

GatesAir has also welcomed Matt Smith as its new regional sales director for EMEA and Antonio Satta as sales director for the Caribbean and Latin America. Commenting on all three appointments, Rich Redmond, GatesAir’s international president and managing director, said: ‘The collective industry experience of nearly 50 years between all three appointments will only add to the global business momentum and long-term success of GatesAir. GatesAir’s main international initiative has been to establish a stronger global presence, and that strategy included hiring experienced resources with a regional presence that would bring us closer to our customers. We welcome Antonio, Matt and Oscar to the GatesAir team.’
