InfoComm Southeast Asia moves to July due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns

Southeast Asia:

The Covid-19 outbreak continues to impact the pro AVL industry’s trade show calendar, as InfoComm Southeast Asia has been postponed. Originally due to take place from 27 – 29 May, InfoComm SEA will now be held from 9 – 11 July 2020 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

While InfoComm SEA was not scheduled to take place until late May, the show’s organising body, InfoCommAsia, has taken this decision as a cautionary measure to ensure the safety of exhibitors and attendees. Making the decision to postpone the show as soon as possible also allowed for InfoComm SEA to secure its new dates in July.

In a statement released by InfoCommAsia, the organiser said: ‘While we understand that this may cause an inconvenience, the safety of all our exhibitors and attendees is of prime importance and we made this decision with their best interests in mind. We also hope that the rescheduling of the show will allow time for the Covid-19 situation to improve and, in turn, support better attendance at the show.’

Last year marked the inaugural edition of InfoComm SEA at the BITEC, which drew 152 exhibitors and a recorded attendance of 7,743. Attendees travelled from across Southeast Asia, confirming its place on the calendar as a regional show, rather than a local exhibition. With the move to July this year and hopes that the Coronavirus situation improves by then, Pro AVL Asia expects to see InfoComm SEA grow in its second year.
