Focusrite creates partnership with AudioThing to promote free access to its SR-88 plug-in

As part of a one-off Plug-in Collective special, Focusrite has partnered with AudioThing to allow its members access to the SR-88 plug-in for free for a limited period of time.

AudioThing’s SR-88 is a sample-based plug-in emulation of the Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88, an analogue drum machine from the 1980s. The instrument features five classic analogue sounds – kick, snare, hi-hat one, hi-hat two and cymbal – which can be pitched, panned or mixed independently. Sound can be shaped with the low-pass filter (zero delay feedback), overdrive, compressor and reverb.

The sequencer lets the user build patterns, then flip each track’s sequence using the ‘random’ function. Sequences can be dragged and dropped at a DAW/host, making it easy to build ideas quickly. The SR-88 is compatible with Mac and PC, in AU, VST2, VST3 and 64-bit AAX formats.

To join the Plug-in Collective, users must register a Focusrite hardware product then look out for a new offer every couple of months. The AudioThing SR-88 offer will expire on 24 April 2020 and is running in addition to the Mastering the Mix IGNITE and BASSROOM content already available as part of the Plug-in Collective.
