The Covid-19 outbreak has meant that many people the world over are in quarantine or self-isolation. The AV industry has reacted swiftly to the new situation, with companies coming forward on a daily basis to provide opportunities for remote learning. Some of these are listed below.

- Adam Audio has created instructive and informative YouTube video series based on requests from its customers.

- Adamson has launched an Education Webinar Series, which includes Blueprint AV 3D predictive simulation software and an in-depth discussion and Q&A with Jeremiah Karni, Adamson’s head of education, and Brian Fraser, head of products and technology.

- AES has set dates for their AES Virtual Vienna Convention 2nd - 5th June, to register click here

- Astera has launched the Astera Academy to provide its users with webinars and online support.

- AUDAC have launched their long-term Education Platform, register here. They also offer their Level 1 product training videos here.

- Audinate has offered several educational programmes including a Dante certification programme for system designers, engineers and others in the industry that allows participants to improve their Dante proficiency.

- AVIXA is offering all non-instructor-led training free of charge through to 12th June.

- Avolites is hosting a series of online learning sessions and discussions with industry professionals.

- Barix is creating a virtual NAB booth that will provide sessions to broadcasters and video professionals.

- Bubble, a PR agency located in the UK, will be hosting a series of webinars with its clients via Zoom in the absence of the NAB show.

d&b audiotechnik, have announced a series of free educational sessions via Zoom and Instagram. The webinar courses are updated daily.

- DAS Audio are hosting a number of webinars, topics include Ease Focus 3, DASnet and DASaim.

- DPA Microphones will be hosting a week of Facebook interviews and mic trainings from 13th April

- ETC is offering its online classes free on LearningStage, from basic concepts to advanced training for console users, lighting designers and technicians. The company has also announced more online resources in the upcoming weeks for lighting professionals who are keen to learn.

- Harman Professional Solutions has started the Harman Pro University Learning Session, which includes a series of webinars such as Industry Expert workshops and Harman Expert webinars.

- L-Acoustics are hosting a number of free webinars over the coming weeks. A listing of current webinars can be found here.

- MA Lighting is offering free-of-charge access to its E-Learning tool. The platform offers an interactive, guided and user-centric online learning environment for MA products.

- Martin Audio has launched weekly webinars that will help technicians keep up to date with the latest technology. Freelance professionals will appear as guest speakers.

- Meyer Sound is providing free online training sessions which are being streamed live via Zoom every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6pm CET. Sessions will run for approximately one hour, are free and no registration is required. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Meyer Sound Mexico will host a Spanish language session at the same time. All sessions can be watched back later at www.youtube.com/thinkingsound.

- NEXO Starting on April 10, NEXO’s Engineering Support team will be using its hugely popular Facebook channel to present e-learning sessions, part of Yamaha’s extensive Audioversity tuition resource.

- NMK Academy is offering AV engineers educational webinars to keep up to date with the latest innovations and enhancements in the industry.

- Obsidian is offering free weekly training sessions that cover its ONYX control platform and its NETRON data distribution range.

- Out Board has created One-on-One for One online training sessions with specialists from TiMax for sound designers, engineers and production sound technicians.

- Outline are offering a series of webinars from 20th April starting with Newton Hardware Overview. Full listing can be found here

- Powersoft has designed online training sessions by industry players to examine how the manufacturer’s solutions have been used in live events and installations.

- Purelink will be providing distant communication training alongside online sessions on how to use its camera line, streaming solutions and presentation and collaboration systems.

- RCF has announced the release of several webinars on its technology and practices for live sound and audio installation.

- Sennheiser has provided a series of free online webinars on topics such as RF and microphone basics. The company is also hosting roundtable discussions with sound engineers.

- The Shure Audio Institute is providing interested learners with freely available online courses, webinars, certification programmes and more to enhance audio knowledge, learn practical skills, and to help users get the most out of its products.

- Yamaha is continuing to create educational programmes in live and installed audio which can be accessed online via its Youtube channel.

- Zero 88 will be hosting 42 Zoom training sessions each month divided into 10 categories for as long as the current crisis lasts. You can find more information here
