Outline chosen for Philippine Olympic-grade athletics stadium
Outline distributor Amigo Entertainment Technologies has installed a PA system into the New Clark City Athletics Stadium, an Olympic Grade Class 1 stadium in Capas, Tarlac.
The 20,000-capacity stadium, which features a hinged roof inspired by the crater of the country’s Mount Pinatubo volcano, now boasts a system of 30 Outline Stadia cabinets powered by eight Outline GTA Otto Dante-enabled power amps. Work was carried out at the venue in time for the athletic events and closing ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games and the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2020 ASEAN Para Games.
The stadium’s PA system consists of Outline Stadia100 LA enclosures comprising three two-way loudspeaker modules with 100° horizontal directivity and either 10°, 20° or 30° vertical dispersion, providing flexibility for system designers to create solutions with long-throw accuracy that help to minimise audible reflections and reverberation.
‘To handle this key project, which featured some challenging aspects, such as the fact that the building consists almost entirely of acoustically reflective products such as steel and glass, we decided to install an Outline rig for fundamental features such as high intelligibility and extreme precision, even when very long throws are involved,’ said Amando Nieva Zamora, chairman and CEO of Amigo.
Amigo also installed an Outline Stadia system in the New Clark City Sports aquatics centre adjacent to the athletics stadium.
Amigo’s portfolio of projects in a wide variety of fields now extends beyond the Philippines to include Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, the USA, Guam and Vietnam.
