Electro-Voice announces casting call for Covid virtual concert
With musicians no longer able to play bars around town to get their music heard, Electro-Voice is inviting them to take to the virtual stage via Facebook Live. From 26–30 May, 15 artists from a variety of musical genres from around the world will play 30–45 minute sets of their original music on the Electro-Voice Facebook page and electrovoice.com.
As a payment for the performance, each artist will receive a US$300 performance fee, as well as one Electro-Voice EVOLVE 30M column system and two EV performance mics to ensure they're ready when they can perform live and in person again.
‘The concert series is a way of showing support for a musical community that's been immediately hit hard by the Covid crisis,’ says the manufacturer. ‘We want to show support with more than words. While the payment is humble, we hope this gesture helps these talented musicians and brings our community together through the sharing of music.’
To decide who will take to the virtual stage, Electro-Voice has opened up a casting call to any and all artists from 27 April – 6 May. A group of judges will then virtually audition entrants to determine the lineup.
