To maintain the MCG’s status in the competitive Australian stadium market, the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) committee pledged a A$25 million investment that would significantly enhance the audio experience for fans packed into the 100,024-capacity venue. Having successfully overseen the audio upgrade for the Sydney Olympic Stadium in 2014, Auditoria’s Scott Willsallen was tasked to provide the best audio to every seat in the house. Diversified’s appointment as the head contractor for the vast systems integration made a formidable off-field team. From initial tendering to final commissioning, the time scale of fewer than 18 months would severely test the experienced Diversified team headed by project director Matt Edgcumbe. Both Scott and Matt look back at the immense undertaking.
