Blumano opens East Asian office

Blumano, entertainment industry consultants in safety and machinery design, has announced the launch of Blumano East Asia, which will work with the company’s offices in Ireland, the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.

Laurent Ste-Marie joins the organisation, bringing 25 years’ experience of the acrobatic rigging world, a key addition to Blumano's skill set, as is his background in technical production and project management.

''Seeing how the entertainment industry is bouncing back from an unfortunate dip, the timing seemed right to take on a new and exciting challenge,” said Ste-Marie, who’d begun taking some of Blumano’s training courses when he discovered he shared similar values to safety and design with the team. “Through our exchanges we realised that our passion for the industry, vision and dedication for the promotion of a safe work environment would make a partnership between us a perfect fit. It is an honour to be part of the Blumano team and I'm looking forward to extending renowned support to existing and new clients in the East Asian market.”

Blumano is specialised in atypical technical frameworks, which can include handling performer flying, moving elements above audiences and automating unique objects designed for shows, festivals, tours, corporate events, and other special events. The company also provides a variety of services designed to help clients adjust to changes brought on by the pandemic. This includes services like technical production, compliance and certification, H&S of machinery and equipment in use, integration of machinery and controls and machinery risk assessments.
