OmniFIX and SmartBeam enter the Klotz AIS catalogue

With the development of SmartBeam Dodeka 12, Klotz AIS has created a 12-fold lens expanded beam connector. Housed in IP67 material, the FiberLink SmartBeam is immune to harsh conditions and dirt. Capable of producing 12x 10GB/s transfer rates, the 12 connecting fibres (12x 50/125µm, OM4, multimode) are protected by a 500μm primary coating and a 900µm tight buffered fibre. The 6.4mm diameter promotes quick winding and reeling at extreme temperatures. All components are also available in single mode (12x 9/125µm, OS2), assembled with a Fiberflex ULTRA F12US11A cable. Allowing mixed use of connectors in a signal chain, the SmartBeam connectors with two, four, eight and 12 channels are compatible with each other, as well as with MIL-DTL-83526/20 connectors. A matching breakout box, the FiberExplorer, is available on request.

Suitable for analogue and digital audio signals, the cable manufacturer has added the OmniFIX OX22GHB to its AES/EBU multicore range. Each wire pair has a 2x 0.22mm² conductor cross-section and comes with foil-shielded pairs together with a foil and dense braid double shield. The triple shielding and EN50575 flame test ensure that OmniFIX is interference free with low-loss signal transfer. The LSZH materials used for the pair and outer jacket emit no toxic or halogen-containing gases with very little smoke in the event of a fire. The foil shields and pair jackets of the OX22GHB are bonded together for quicker processing.
