Movecat takes to the stage in Malaysia’s Zepp venue

The 26 May saw the opening of Zepp Kuala Lumpur – said to be Malaysia’s most prestigious and automated performance centre. This new venue is positioned in the heart of the city centre and is the latest addition to Sony Music’s live houses, with the concept originating in Japan, where 10 of the Zepp venues are located.

Zepp Kuala Lumpur is the second overseas venue, alongside Zepp New Taipei, but it is the first live house of its kind to have a Movecat stage automation system so far. The venue hosts a complete winch system from the company, offering rigging and performance options to fulfil the various performances demands. The Basic-C Show Controller controls the 11 x 1 and 2T DGUV V17, SIL3 and BGV-C1 winches, lifting the 22m TRAC82 fly bars. The Movecat touring rack is taking control of the 20 electrical chain hoists while electrical curtain tracks and Doughty studio rails mask the impressive stage and the Admiral Snake cable guides are utilised in guiding cables for the additional truss spans.
