Following on from the recent 2024 PLS Guangzhou trade show, Powersoft has announced that it is expanding its APAC team with the appointment of Jonathan Wu as senior business development manager in China and Jinfu Chen as business development manager for the Southeast Asian market. Furthermore, the manufacturer has welcomed Michael Wu as solution engineer for the Chinese market.

Jonathan Wu has worked for many key audio brands over his career, where he has been responsible for regional and vertical market sales. As senior business development manager in China, Wu will utilise his end-user experience, particularly in technical services, to offer Chinese customers an overall enhanced service. His role will focus on nurturing relationships with potential clients, partners and stakeholders.

As business development manager for the Southeast Asian market, Jinfu Chen will focus on Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam. To ensure growth objectives, he will create direct relationships with key integrators and consultants, utilising regular meetings and training sessions within the distribution network. Chen’s previous experience includes positions at Yamaha Commercial Audio and Audio-Technica, as well as a background as a freelance sound engineer. “My vision for the Southeast Asian market will be to ensure Powersoft is the first choice for consultants, integrators and rental companies for their projects,” said Chen.

Joining the team as solution engineer, Michael Wu brings to the role a rich history in the audiovisual industry, with expertise in product application, technical services and solutions design. At Powersoft, he will leverage his knowledge to provide a variety of solutions and technical support for the manufacturer’s clients.

“I have always relied on Powersoft’s products throughout my career and I have a deep admiration for the company’s product development method. From my point of view, the complete digitised product line and expanding cloud-based products and solutions are attractive to the Chinese market and respond to its needs well. In his new role, Wu will work closely with EZPro to enhance Powersoft’s services in China, including promoting products, providing training and education services and offering technical support. “By localising Powersoft materials and services, we will enable the Chinese market and our clients in the region to understand the products better, as well as how to use them correctly. I will combine my experience and knowledge of the local industry to provide a series of solutions fit to various applications. In turn, this will speed up the product deployment process for clients, as well as reduce costs, and provide a more streamlined experience for end-users.”
